Adventure Quest Guide Page 3

adventure quest Guide page 3 continues...

Clans:
To find a Clan you need to travel to the Island of Paxia where you can participate in Clan activites such as Wars and challenges.

There are 8 clans, one for each element the current clans are:
  • Geoto (Earth)
  • Nautica (Water)
  • Dynami (Energy)
  • Igneus (Fire)
  • Glacius (Ice)
  • Lucian (Light)
  • Nocturu (Darkness)
Clan leaders in the same order is: Geoto, Aerodu, Nautica, Dynamo, Igneox, Glaciar, Lucius and Noctros.

To join a clan travel to Paxia then click on the location of a clan's base. Speak to the leader and ask to join. You cannot join if there are a clan war going on. (If there is one going on you will have to wait until there is peace once more on Paxia)

To leave a clan you have to speak with the Negatus Statue which can be found on Monolith Island (Off the shore of Paxia). You cannot leave a clan if there is a clan war going on.

Once you have joined a clan you can enter their base. All clans have their own shop that sells specialized items depending on the particular element.

Clan Wars:
Now and then Paxia has wars and challenges. During these special events players fight battles against opposing forces on PAxia in random order engaging thing such as airships or even other clan members in a computer controlled PvP. Repairs can also be made and once the dust settles there is one clan that is pronounced the winner (the one in the best health at the end) and are awarded spoils of war.

Paxus is the character to see when it comes to Challenges since it is his arena that you can see above Paxia.

Good VS.Evil:
January 2008 the developers added an Alignment feature (like the Dungeons and Dragons system) which enables you to choose wether you want a good (unity) or bad (chaos) character. In-game decisions in a war could decide if you get a Good Alignment award or an Evil alignment award.

Next covered in the adventure quest Guide page 3 is Equipment Information.

Equipment:
The six types of equipment are:

Weapons, are used to attack the enemy via the "attack" command. Several weapons have special abilities and the damage can originate from one or several elements.

Shields, affect the characters defense modifiers. Certain shields has rewind abilities which can heal you once. Some has triggers which gives you attack boost when you are fighting certain monsters.

Armor, similar to shields they affect  characters defense modifier and can give allow for extra attacks. Some armors allow the use of class skills or subrace attacks which get added to with each level of the class or subrace.

Spells, are an alternate method of attack but can also summon things and/or creatures. Some heal the one thing all spells have in common are that they drain Mana Points(MP).

Pets, are purchased or gained through quests and they help you by attacking your enemy or healing you. (Some also changes the status of the monster like freezing them for example)

Misc, are just what it sound like. They can offer a wide variety of function such as defense vs a specific type of attack, provide temporary stat boosts, extra attack power etc. They must be activated before used usually at the cost of either MP and/or a turn.

Shops, is where you buy all of the equipment and there are shops scattered through the world. All pieces of equipment have level requirements that you must meet before you can buy them. You can sell equipment back to the shop but don't think you will get back all your money in doing so. Spend your cash wisely. You can hold up to eight of each type of equipment in a battle and you can purchase additional storage space using Z-Tokens to hold items outside of battle.

Next covered in the adventure quest Guide page 3 is Events, Challenges and quests.

Events, Challenges and Quests:
The difference between events, challenges and quests are that
events and challenges are available for limited time periods while quests are a fixed part of the Adventure quest world.

Examples of events could be the Mogloween that is an Adventure Quest holiday.

In Challanges characters has to defeat as many monsters as possible but there are no immediate reward(other than bragging rights offcourse).

Quests ties into the story line and can be triggered either by speaking to a NPC(non-player character) or by going to a location where it automatically starts.

Next covered in the adventure quest Guide page 3 is payable ugrades.

Payable Upgrade Options: Guardians
There are some aspects of Adventure Quest that requires real cash payment in order to experience (around 30% of the game content).

The upgrade is called Guardianship and is the premium version of Adventure Quest which is based on a one-time fee.

Being a Guardian unlocks some key benefits such as more quests, events, wars, locations, armors the ability to carry more health and mana potions.
Guardians also recieve more powerful starting weapons and can train to Level 10 in each class VS. 5 for an adventurer(free account).
(More about Guardianship and upgrades in Page 4)

They also have Guaranteed Login Access.

One of the downsides with playing with a free account that in order to reduce server stress depending on how many players are playing at any given time a free account user may be prevented from logging in.
This is the biggest downside to have a free account.

Z-Tokens:
Was originally a money donating system but that system was replaced with the Z-Token(Zard Tokens). The tokens are rare coins in Adventure Quest which you may acquire through your quests and recieved after slaying monsters. You can purchase Z-Tokens for real money.

Z-Tokens are used to buy shields, armor, weapons and special items which are more powerful than normal Items. They also comes in handy when you buy your own player-owned house(guards for the house) and pets that are more powerful than the usual pets. A house can like real real estate appreciate in Z-Token Value making it an investment.

Ballyhoo:
Is nothing more than the ability to enable in-game advertising in exchange for gold, temporary items and perhaps Z-Tokens.

Next covered in the adventure quest Guide page 3 is my personal reflections.

Personal Reflections:
This is just a small fraction displayed of what Adventure Quest has to offer in terms of items, monsters, playing styles, quests etc. The World of Lore is crammed to the ceiling so to speak with things to explore, utilize or battle with.

The entire next page is dedicated to information about the various upgrade packages that are available. I added this is information in to provide you with a solid base of information to better decide which approach you want to take. Playing as a free adventurer or to upgrade to a Guardianship.
